The invention relates to a walking aid for a mechanically driven treadmill,comprising at least one tractive element that is guided over two respectivedeflection rollers and that is driven directly or indirectly by means of thetreadmill. The tract of said element that directly faces the treadmill belt isdisplaced in the same direction as said belt and the tract of the element thatfaces away from the belt is displaced in the opposite direction to the latter.The aid also comprises at least one fixing element, which is located on thetractive element, for supports for part of the feet and/or legs.
