For a seagoing vessel, in particular a gas-operated seagoing vessel, comprising tank chambers for carrying along gas, preferably liquefied natural gas, and at least one gas preparation chamber, in which facilities and fittings for storing and/or providing gas to be fed from at least one of the tank chambers to the particular application, the storing and/or provision occurring in a manner determined by the application, the tank chambers are arranged next to each other in the vessel, wherein at least one gas preparation chamber is arranged in an area between tank chambers adjacent to each other. In addition to the gas preparation chamber, at least one accommodating chamber for facilities relevant to the safety of the vessel is arranged in the area between tank chambers adjacent to each other. Each tank chamber has at least one lying tank, wherein each tank is a cylinder tank.
