PURPOSE: A method for selecting an inspection part of a pipe using risk information is provided to objectively inspect a pipe by quantitatively evaluating risk. CONSTITUTION: A pipe id defined and segmented(101). Damages to the pipe are qualitatively evaluated(103). The risk due to pipe damages is quantified(105). The probability of pipe damages is evaluated(107). An inspection pipe is determined by considering the risk importance(109,111). The inspection part of the pipe is selected(113).
