The device (1) has a suction device (8) drawing a sample liquid (2) from a deep provided liquid (3) and comprising a low pressure device i.e. low pressure-holding container (5), and a suction line (4). The suction line is attached to the low pressure device for extracting a liquid sample from the liquid. A ventilation opening (15) for the line is arranged at a distance to a suction opening (12) for the liquid, where the suction opening is formed at an inlet end (11) of the line. The line is selectively associated with atmosphere (16) or separated from the atmosphere by the ventilation opening.
