The engine has a recirculation conduit (40) for circulating gas in an intake conduit (4) and including an adjustable gas passage section. The recirculation conduit increases the flow gas circulating in a turbine (10) of a low pressure turbocharger (14) relative to the flow of gas traversing the turbine when the passage section is non-void, where a compressor of the turbocharger is placed upstream in the intake conduit. The recirculation conduit reduces the flow of gas circulating inside the compressor relative to the flow of gas traversing the compressor when the passage section is void.
