PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeding device for mixed paper items, a feeding method for mixed paper items, and a postal machine, capable of performing treatments of separating and delivering mail pieces without giving damage to the mail pieces even in a case of a mail pieces bundle where mail pieces with different kind envelop bodies are mixed.;SOLUTION: The feeding device for mixed paper items includes: a type sensor that detects the envelope type of a leading mail piece of a mail piece bundle that has been conveyed, wherein the bundle of mail pieces includes mail pieces with a standard envelope of a standard stiffness and mail pieces with a soft envelope that is less stiff than the standard envelope; a suction part that includes a suction belt that rotates at a predetermined speed and separates the leading mail piece from the other mail pieces by the frictional force that results when the leading mail piece contacts the suction be a pickup part that includes a pair of pickup rollers, which rotate at a predetermined speed, and grasps and delivers the leading mail piece that has been separated by the suction part; and a control part that assesses the envelope type of the leading mail piece on the basis of the type signal and controls the rotation speeds of the suction part and the pickup part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
