PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film for a liquid crystal display device, the film capable of improving a color shift phenomenon accompanying an increase of a viewing angle, and to provide a liquid crystal display device having the film.SOLUTION: The optical film for a liquid crystal display device is disposed in front of a liquid crystal display panel, and the film comprises a background layer 21 forming a layer and a plurality of concave or convex lens portions 23 formed in the background layer 21, the lens portions spaced apart from one another. When light having different colors depending on viewing angles and grayscale levels, owing to the birefringence characteristics of liquid crystal molecules, is emitted from the liquid crystal display panel, the lens portions diffuse exiting directions of light incident on the lens portions 23, which is a part of the emitted light, allowing the exiting light to mix with others transmitting through the spaced lens portions 23.
