PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a wrong detection of an end part position in a display area even in a flat display panel on which a line defect is generated in the vicinity of the end part in the display area.;SOLUTION: A display area detection device comprises: a display pattern designation part for displaying each of multiple kinds of prescribed display patterns on a flat display panel; a captured image acquisition part for acquiring image data for images of the flat display panel captured when each of the display patterns is displayed; an end part position coordinate estimation part for estimating coordinates of an end part position in a display area according to the image data acquired by the captured image acquisition part and display patterns corresponding to the image data; and an end part position coordinate determination part for determining the coordinates of the end part position in the display area by comparing each of the coordinates differently estimated according to each display pattern by the end part position coordinate estimation part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
