PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide precursor glass for a lithium ion secondary battery positive electrode material and crystallized glass for a lithium ion secondary battery positive electrode material that can obtain a high battery capacity.SOLUTION: The precursor glass for a lithium ion secondary battery positive electrode material includes as a glass composition, in mol, 20-50% of LiO, 20-40% of PO, 0-40% of FeO, 0-60% of MnO, and 0.1-2.4% of NbO, wherein (FeO+MnO/2)/PO0.85 in molar ratio.
