PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the design properties of the interior of a cage by illuminating the peripheral edge of a ceiling surface of the cage with light penetrating through the side face of a light-shade member, covering luminaires while surely locking the light-shade member.;SOLUTION: A device for illuminating the interior of an elevator cage has: a luminaire case 22 that is arranged on the outer-peripheral side of luminaires 21 mounted on the ceiling of a cage and has an opening 30 below the luminaires 21; and a translucent light-shade member 24 whose one-end side is connected to the luminaire case 22 by a hinge so as to be vertically turnable and which turns between a closing position for closing the opening 30 and an opening position for opening the opening 30 and is engageably/disengageably locked at the closing position.
