PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing metal ions other than copper contained in a solution which mainly contains monovalent copper ions and is used in a process of recovering metal copper from the solution by an electrolytic operation. PSOLUTION: In a process of recovering metal copper by dissolving the copper metal waste in the solution containing divalent copper ions, and by electrolyzing the obtained solution mainly containing the monovalent copper ions to make the metal copper deposited, this recovering method includes: adding phosphoric acid or a phosphate, which has a low solubility product with lead, into the solution containing the divalent copper ions, or into the solution mainly containing the monovalent copper ions after the dissolution treatment.
