USE OF C5A RECEPTOR ANTAGONIST IN TREATMENT OF FIBROSIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing, treating or alleviating a fibrotic condition, associated with myocardial infarction or diabetes or certain pulmonary conditions.SOLUTION: There is provided the method including a step of administering an effective amount of an antagonist of a G protein-coupled receptor to a subject in need of such treatment. In a preferred embodiment, the antagonist is a C5a receptor antagonist. More preferably, the antagonist is a peptide or a peptidomimetic compound, specifically, a cyclic peptide or a cyclic peptidomimetic compound.
