PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw press having a flocculation device equipped with a line mixer. PSOLUTION: A screw shaft 6 is extended to an outer cylinder casing 8 connected to the starting end portion of an outer cylinder screen 4. The line mixer 29 is connected to the peripheral wall of the outer cylinder casing 8. A sludge feed pipe 30 for raw liquid sludge and a chemical feed pipe 31 for a flocculant are connected to the peripheral wall of the line mixer 29. An agitating vane 33 is disposed on the end wall portion 29a. A plurality of baffle plates 38 are fixed to the inner peripheral wall on the sludge discharge port 39 side. The flocculation device is made small. A rotational flow agitated and mixed at high speed is made to collide with the baffle plates 38 to be converted into a turbulent flow, which promotes flocculation and rectifies the flow to a straight flow, eliminating unevenness of flocculated flocs and enabling formation of uniform flocs. Dewatering is carried out immediately after the floc formation, which eliminates destruction of the flocs to improve dewaterability. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
