PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device capable of displaying a directional sign displaying adequate name for guiding every direction of the branch.;SOLUTION: When a vehicle 31 approaches the branch 22, a directional sign 40A is superimposed on the map (30). The name 41a displayed with the right turn arrow mark on the directional sign 40A at the branch 22, the name of city etc., is displayed such as (○○ town) to which the most vehicles are travelling after right turn, the name 41b displayed with the straight going on arrow mark on the direction sign 40E at the branch 22, the name of city etc., is displayed such as (▵▵ town) to which the most vehicles are travelling after straightly passing through the branch, further the name 41c displayed with the left turn arrow mark on the directional sign 40E at the branch 22, the name of the city etc., is displayed such as (○× town) to which the most vehicles are travelling after the left turn.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
