Complexes of copper with 2-phenyl-3-hydroxyqunolin-4(1H)-one, process for their preparation and use of the complexes as medicaments in antitumor therapy
Complexes of copper with 2-phenyl-3-hydroxyqunolin-4(1H)-one, process for their preparation and use of the complexes as medicaments in antitumor therapy
In the present invention, there are disclosed copper complexes in oxidation stage +II and crystal solvates thereof comprising a structural motif I of the general formula II or III expressed by the structural formulae [Cu(L1)(L2)] II or [Cu(L1)(L3)i2] III, wherein the symbol L1 represents a 2-phenyl-3-hydroxyquinolin-4(1H)-one of the general formula IV, L2 denotes a bidentately coordinating N-donor ligand and L3 represents a monodentately coordinating N-donor ligand to a copper atom of the base motif I, wherein the substituents R1 and R2 are independently selected from the group consisting of : a hydrogen atom, a halogen, an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, an amino group, a carboxamido group or another functional group or combination of these substituents, wherein the amino group can be further substituted as N-R?-R??, in which R? and R?? represent independently on each other a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a substituted cycloalkyl group, a cycloheteroalkyl group, a substituted cycloheteroalkyl group, a heteroaryl group, and a substituted heteroaryl group, wherein the carboxamido group can also be further substituted as CO-N-R???, in which R??? denotes a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a substituted cycloalkyl group, a cycloheteroalkyl group, a substituted cycloheteroalkyl group, a heteroaryl group, and a substituted heteroaryl group, and L2 and L3 represent ligands coordinating to a copper atom via a nitrogen atom or atoms.
