A self-orienting caster, constituted by at least one wheel, which can rotateon a shaft (S) driven horizontally through the seat of a support (2) providedwith a vertical recess (4) open upward and offset axially with respect to theshaft (S) and in which a caster pivoting pivot (5) rotates that is providedwith first (6) and second (7) portions insertable in a seat of a furniturepiece, the second portion (7) having an end stem (12) with reduced diameterforming a shoulder (13), a bush fixed axially on the stem (12) and forming anannular groove (17) for accommodating, without play, an elastic ring (18) thatpresses by expanding against the wall of the recess (4).
