Disclosed are: a method for producing a porous lithium titanate, which exhibits excellent impregnatability of a nonaqueous electrolyte and is capable of improving charge/discharge cycle characteristics when used as an electrode active material for a lithium battery; a porous lithium titanate; and a lithium battery using the porous lithium titanate.
