A method for manufacturing a steam generator for which tube support plates (6), in which are formed multiple heat-conducting tube insertion holes through which multiple heat-conducting tubes are inserted and supported, are arranged within a cylindrical body part (2), wherein the method includes: a step wherein one of the ends of linear members (20) is arranged with respect to multiple tube holes (4a) in a tube plate (4) which is secured at one end of a horizontally arranged body part (2), and the other end of each of the linear members (20) is arranged at the other end of the body part (2); a step wherein, next, the linear members (20) are positioned with respect to the centers of the tube holes (4a) and the centers of heat-conducting tubes inserted into the tube holes (4a); and a step wherein, next, each linear member (20) is inserted into a prescribed heat-conducting tube insertion hole of a tube support plate (6), and the attachment position of the tube support plate (6) is adjusted so as to align each linear member (20) with the center position of each heat-conducting tube insertion hole.
