A resistive-switching component capable of implementing base-n addition calculation and a method of implementing base-n addition calculation by using the resistive-switching component. The resistive-switching component has multiple resistance values from a high resistance state to a low resistance state, and each resistance value corresponds to a storage value. By continuously applying set pulse voltages having the same width and height, the storage value of the resistive-switching component is sequentially added by 1, by applying a reset pulse voltage, the storage value of the resistive-switching component is reset to 0, and at the same time, by applying one set pulse voltage, the storage value of a higher-digit resistive-switching component is added by 1, so the base-n addition calculation is implemented. Through the operations on the resistive-switching component, the data storage and the base-n addition calculation can be implemented at the same time, thus significantly simplifying the circuit structure and realizing the unified application of storage and calculation.
