PURPOSE: Improved monitoring of wear of bearing in a large two-stroke diesel engine is provided to determine wear of a main bearing, a crankpin bearing and a crosshead bearing using two sensors and generate alarm if failure is imminent.;CONSTITUTION: Improved monitoring of wear of bearing in a large two-stroke diesel engine comprises at least two sensors and a controller. The controller receives signals from each sensor(410). The controller compensates each signal depending on the operation conditions of an engine(420). The controller determine the excess of a critical value and if yes, the critical value is indicated(460). The controller generates a compensating table for the operation conditions of an engine during operation of the engine under learning by sampling the number of first sensor values to the number of second engine operation condition points during operation of the engine.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
