PURPOSE: A lithium ion capacitor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent decomposition of an electrolyte by preventing direct contact of an active material layer of a carbon material and the electrolyte.;CONSTITUTION: A lithium ion capacitor comprises an electrode cell(110) which is sealed up by housing, and an electrolyte impregnated in the electrode cell. The electrode cell comprises an anode(111) and a cathode(112) which is arranged by turns leaving a separator(113) in interval. The anode and the cathode are partially overlapped.
