ESSENTIAL OIL EXTRACT OF NEOLISTEA SERICEA HAVING ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY AND ANTI-MICROBIAL ACTIVITY AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE: An essential oil extract of Neolistea sericea with anti-inflammation and anti-microbial properties is provided to suppress generation of inflammatory factors such as iNOS, COX, COX-2 and PGE2. CONSTITUTION: An anti-inflammatory composition contains essential oil extract of Neolistea sericea as an active ingredient. The composition is a food composition or pharmaceutical composition. The essential oil extract has antimicrobial property against Staphylococcus epidermidis, Propionibacterium acnes, Malasseiz furfur, and Candida albicans. The pharmaceutical composition is manufactured in the form of oral formulation(tablet, suspension, granule, emulsion, capsule, syrup), parenteral formulation(sterilized aqueous or oil injection suspension), and local formulation(solution, cream, ointment, gel, lotion, patch).
