PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for managing a battery by using discharge characteristics are provided to analyze the discharge characteristics by changing a discharge voltage curve of a non-linear battery into a time function.;CONSTITUTION: A discharge curve measuring unit(100) measures a discharge curve which is not linearized in the discharge beginning state of a battery. A curve transform unit(200) firstly changes the measured discharge curve and a reference curve into a curve of a time function. A data modeling part(300) secondarily changes the curve of the time function by using a curve fitting method. The data modeling unit linearizes the curve of the time function into a prediction straight line. A status information operation unit(400) computes status information of the battery based on the prediction straight line.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
