The valve-train (1) has a base camshaft (3) rotatable around a rotational axis, and cam carriers (4) axially displaceable in relation to the camshaft. A clearance between an internal gearing of the carriers and an external gearing of the camshaft in first and second circumferential portions of the gearings is smaller than that in third and fourth circumferential portions of the gearings. The third and fourth portions are respectively arranged between the first and second portions, where each portion extends over a circumferential angle in a range between 60 and 90 degrees.
