The apparatus has a hub adapter that is secured to a wheel hub flange or a brake disc of a motor vehicle, and is rotated about rotation axis by drive element. The hub adapter includes an attachment plate (1) that is attached to wheel hub flange. The attachment plate includes expansion elements (2) which are arranged in parallel to rotational axis (R). Each expansion element is inserted into a threaded bore of wheel hub flange. An actuator is provided for actuating each expansion element so that the expansion element is expanded vertically with respect to axial direction. An independent claim is included for method for fastening testing apparatus to wheel hub flange or brake disc of motor vehicle.
