The gearbox comprises a shift device formed as a cable-controlled gearshift (10), and four shift forks (22) for operation of four synchronizing units. The shift device comprises a shift shaft (11) with three shift fingers (14,15,16) and three blocking portions. Each shift fork is operated by a shift finger during the blocking of the non-actuated shift forks by the blocking portions. Two shift fingers are provided for the actuation of two shift forks, and the other two shift fingers are provided for actuating a single shift fork.
