The device has a brake actuation unit (1) having a brake booster (2) which is fixed with a housing (8) of master cylinder (3). A sensor unit connected with electronic control unit, comprises position indicator (9) that monitors the position of brake pedal and provides signals to a sensor element (10). The position indicator is provided with movable wall carrier (12) which is connected with a control housing (5), and is guided in a guide tube (14). The position indicator is secured parallel to the housing of master cylinder.
