The folding seat (14) has a base (22) and a backrest (24), where the folding seat is in a configuration in which each of the base and the backrest extend vertically one above the other in a parallel manner. Front main faces and/or rear main faces of the base and the backrest are coplanar. The backrest is movably mounted to slide according to vertical direction and to rotate around a horizontal axis with respect to a frame of the folding seat. A rod is connected directly to the base and the backrest.
