An electrical cable capping 10 (e.g. up or along a wall of a building) comprises an elongate housing element 12 and mounting feet 14 extending laterally from elongate edges of the elongate housing element 12. The outer surface 12a of the elongate housing element 12 is provided with one or more keying elements 18 for engaging with plaster applied to the outer surface. The thickness of at least part of the mounting feet 14 is greater than the material of the elongate housing element 12 and may comprise extensions of the elongate edges which are folded back on themselves to form reinforced thickened sections. The keying elements 18 may be V-shaped grooves or folds which extend internally of the elongate housing element 12 and form cable guides within the elongate housing element 12 to define a plurality of cable channels. The V-shaped grooves may follow a non-linear (e.g. curved or wavy) path. Keying elements 18 comprising surface indentations may additionally be formed in the outer surface 12a. A repeating series of two differently sized fixing apertures 20, 22 may be provided in the mounting feet. The repeating series may be of a generally circular 20 and an elongate slot 22 aperture type.
