The cable conduit has covering with two caps (4, 5), which are arranged rotatably at side walls (2, 3), where the caps lie one on another in a closed condition. Cams (19) are arranged at a lower side of the cap (4). The side walls are formed of u-shaped profiles, which are put over retaining posts that are formed at a base plate (1). Parts of the base plate protruding over the side walls are chamfered at the ends.
