PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic sintering raw material which is industrially easily and safely handled and to which functionality such as electrical conductivity can be effectively imparted even when the additive amount of a metal component is small, and to provide a method for manufacturing a ceramic sintered body using the sintering raw material, and a functional ceramic sintered body obtained by sintering the sintering raw material.;SOLUTION: A ceramic sintered body having a volume resistivity of 10^-5 to 10¹¹ Ω cm is obtained by sintering a ceramic sintering raw material prepared by mixing a metal hydride powder into a ceramic powder, preferably a ceramic sintering raw material prepared by mixing yttrium hydride YH_x having a particle size of ≤250 μm into yttria (Y₂O₃) or alumina (Al₂O₃) powder, in a reduced-pressure atmosphere or in a reducing atmosphere.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
