PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a communication distance of a coil antenna.;SOLUTION: A coil antenna 1 includes: a platy coil antenna body 3 including a magnetic body; a coil wire 5; insulation layers 7a and 7b; and metal layers 9a and 9b. A coil wire 5 is wound around the coil antenna body 3. The first metal layer 9a is disposed on one surface 3a of the coil antenna body 3 through the insulation layer 7a. The metal layer 9b is disposed on a back surface 3b of the coil antenna body 3 through the insulation layer 7b. The insulation layers 7a and 7b are formed to have flat surfaces on the opposite side to the coil antenna body 3. The metal layers 9a and 9b are disposed on the flat surfaces of the insulation layers 7a and 7b. The metal layers 9a and 9b are formed to be flat and have uniform thickness.
