PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calibrate a fluorescence detector constituted so as to perform the accurate detection of fluorescence when the fluorescence emitted from a measuring target is detected by receiving the irradiation of a laser beam. PSOLUTION: When the fluorescence detector is calibrated, first, the transmission of the electric signal which is generated from the measuring laser beam modulated in intensity using a modulation signal by photoelectric conversion is delayed. A light detection element detects the calibrating laser beam outputted on the basis of the electric signal delayed in transmission to output a calibrating light detection signal. Furthermore, the calibrating light detection signal is mixed with the modulation signal to generate calibrating light detection data containing data of a phase and intensity. Thereafter, a calibrating phase delay to the modulation signal of the calibrating light detection signal is calculated and a phase delay caused by a transmitting delay time of the electric signal is subtracted from the calculated calibrating phase delay to calculate a system phase delay.
