PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display body and printed matter, each of which has a high visual effect and a high forgery preventing effect and facilitates decision of the truth or falsehood. When the minute letter pattern is observed by a microscope, the minute letter pattern can be observed but when the minute letter pattern is contemplated with the naked eyes, scattered light varied by the constitution or arrangement of the minute letter pattern is observed. When at least one of the depth of the ruggedness of a two-dimensional pattern constituting the pattern cell 20, the density of the ruggedness and the size of the two-dimensional pattern is set according to luminance of a pixel to be displayed, namely, the luminance of a picture to be displayed, the peculiar visual effect can be exhibited.
