TECHNIQUE FOR LUMBAR PUNCTURE IN INJURED PERSONS WITH UNSTABLE FRACTURES OF FEMUR AND PELVIC BONES

摘要

A technique for the lumbar puncture in the injured persons with unstable fractures of femur and pelvic bones comprises spinal anesthesia. The space between the spinous processes of lumbar vertebrae 2 and 3, or 3 and 4 is assessed by palpation. Then the topical anesthetic is administered at a dose providing the spinal block at the levels below the puncture site that is sufficient for traumatological surgery in the injured persons with unstable fractures of femur and pelvic bones.
