A communications device (20) includes a pluralityof wireless transmitters (22, 42) operable at differentrespective frequencies and each configured to generaterespective IQ signals having an initial IQ imbalance. Thecommunications device also includes a frequency tunableauxiliary receiver (62), and a controller (21). Thecontroller is configured to selectively couple a givenwireless transmitter to the frequency tunable auxiliaryreceiver and tune the frequency tunable auxiliaryreceiver to a frequency of the given wirelesstransceiver, and apply predistortion to the givenwireless transmitter based upon the initial IQ imbalanceto reduce the initial IQ imbalance.
