A method for acquiring the electronic service guide information of mobile phone TV is provided, which includes the following features: after encapsulating the electronic service guide ESG information into a multimedia message, the network side sends the multimedia message to a mobile phone TV terminal. A system for acquiring the electronic service guide information of mobile phone TV is also provided, and the system is used for sending a multimedia message to the mobile phone TV terminal after encapsulating the electronic service guide ESG information into the multimedia message. A mobile phone TV terminal is also provided, which is used for receiving the multimedia message from the multimedia message center and acquiring the electronic service guide ESG information from the multimedia message. The present method for acquiring the ESG information makes the terminal acquire the ESG information quickly in real time by sending the ESG information via the multimedia message, therefore enhances the experience of the users.
