The invention relates to an electrically assisted street scooter comprising a handlebar(1), a deck(2), one front wheel(4), one rear wheel(6), a battery pack (8) integral with said deck, one electrical motor (10,11) for driving at least one of said wheels(6), and a drive circuit (12) for controlling electrical supply to said electrical motor from said battery pack. The drive circuit comprises: a switch (121) for setting said drive circuit in a low power-mode where said electrical motor (10) is not powered when the switch is off, or for setting said drive circuit in a drive mode where said electrical motor (10) can be powered when the switch is on, an auto-power on circuit (122) for automatically switching said switch on when a user pushes said street scooter; an auto-power off circuit (122) for automatically switching said switch off when the scooter is not used during a predetermined duration. The level of electrical assistance is determined based on the peak value after each leg push. Electromagnetic braking is proportional to the intensity and/or duration of a pressure on a brake pedal.
