PURPOSE: An air conditioner for a vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to maintain optimal dehumidifying performance and a pleasant air condition of a vehicle interior regardless of air volume control per a user.;CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner for a vehicle and a control method thereof comprise an air blast unit, a case, an evaporator, a heater core, a dehumidifying rotor, and a control unit. The dehumidifying rotor is rotatably installed within an air path between the air blast unit and the evaporator and dehumidifies air flowing in the air path.
