PURPOSE: An electricity quality abnormal waveform sensing system and a method thereof are provide to rapidly send the high capacity abnormal waveform related data by converting a data sending protocol depending on the data capacity and to enable a user easily monitor and utilize a voltage waveform, current wave form, and the electricity quality abnormal waveform in a failure section on on-line when a distribution system fails, by rapidly transmitting the abnormal waveform related data to the on-line. CONSTITUTION: An electricity quality abnormal waveform sensor system of a distribution system comprises a main server(400) which generates a waveform measurement signal when a distribution system fails, receives, stores, and displays the voltage and current of the waveform or the distribution system measured in a failure section of the distribution system; an FEP(300) which transmits the measurement signal generated in the main server to an RTU(Remote Terminal Unit)(100) installed at the failure section and receives the voltage and current of the abnormal waveform or the distribution system from the RTUs and transmits to the main server; and the RTU which generates the abnormal waveform by measuring the voltage or current of the distribution system when receiving the waveform measurement system from the FEP, converting and transmitting to a predetermined protocol based on the requested data which includes the measured voltage and current or the abnormal waveform into the waveform measurement signal.
