PURPOSE: A motor protection control device and a motor controlling method using the same are provided to prevent a motor from being damaged by operating in an open phase protection mode or an imbalance protection mode if one of three phase currents is the minimum rated current or less.;CONSTITUTION: A motor protection control device(100) includes a filter unit(110), a sensing unit(120), and a control unit(130). The filter unit filters a three phase current(10) inputted to a motor protection control device. The filter unit removes harmonic or noise elements from the three phase current through a filtering process. The sensing unit senses each phase current of the three phase current inputted to the motor. The control unit controls the motor in an open phase protection mode or an imbalance protection mode based on each phase current sensed in the sensing unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
