PURPOSE: A welding material for steel for ultralow temperature is provided to perform narrow gap welding, and to excellently weld steel for ultralow temperature even though narrow gap is welded at one path per layer, since a component(especially, the content of REM) of the welding material is properly controlled.;CONSTITUTION: A welding material for steel for ultralow temperature is composed of, in mass%: C: 0.08% or less; Si: 2.0% or less; Mn: 8.0-18.0; Ni: 12.5-20.0; Cr: 10.0-14.0; Mo: 2.0-7.0; N: 0.20 or less; S: 0.005%; and the remainder Fe and inevitable impurities.
