PURPOSE: A leukocyte refining method is provided to reduce the contamination of erythrocyte compare to a case without a washing process.;CONSTITUTION: A leukocyte refining method comprises a step which makes biological fluid or freeze preventive fluid with leukocyte to pass through a multi porous leukocyte removal medium with an upstream surface and a downstream surface. The leukocyte refining method also comprises: a step in which the fluids passed through the downstream surface from the upstream surface, and leukocyte is collected by the leukocyte removal medium; a step which makes the washed fluid to pass through the leukocyte removal medium from the upstream surface to the downstream surface; and a step in which the washed fluid passes through the leukocyte medium from the upstream surface to the downstream surface by gravity.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013;[Reference numerals] (1) Empty syringe barrel is connected to inlet of syringe filter containing leukocyte removal medium. Empty syringe barrel is arranged to be fluid connected to container receiving outlet of syringe filter. Leukocyte containing bio-fluid flows into syringe barrel and is discharged by gravity through filter. Leukocyte is captured by leukocyte removal medium; (2) Syringe barrel is separated from inlet of syringe filter, syringe plunger is inserted into syringe barrel, and syringe is connected to inlet. Inlet of syringe filter is fluid connected to washing container containing washing solution, Plunger is retreated to draw out washing solution from washing container before passing through filter and being inserted into syringe barrel; (3) Syringe plunger is retreated repeatedly to be removed from barrel. Washing solution returns to washing container through filter by gravity. Leukocyte is re-captured by leukocyte removal medium. Undesired substance(e.g. erythrocyte) flows into washing container; (4) Washing can be repeated with new washing solution
