STEERING ANGULAR SPEED ESTIMATING METHOD AND A FAIL OR SAFE DETECTING METHOD USING THE SAME, CAPABLE OF DETECTING FAIL OR SAFE BY ESTIMATING A STEERING ANGULAR SPEED WITH A PHASE CURRENT GENERATED IN THE OPERATION OF A MOTOR
PURPOSE: A steering angular speed estimating method and a fail or safe detecting method using the same are provided to detect fail or safe by estimating a steering angular speed with a phase current and by comparing the estimated steering angular speed to the steering angular speed detected through a steering angle sensor.;CONSTITUTION: A phase current generated in the operation of a BLAC motor of an MDPS is measured by a current sensor (S110). When the phase current is measured in the current sensor, whether the phase current is over a predetermined triggering level is determined by comparing the phase current with the triggering level with a steering angular speed estimation unit (S120). When the phase current is over the triggering level, a cycle of the phase current is detected (S130).
