PURPOSE: An ice breaking device and a ship having the same are provided to break drift ice approaching a hull without the propulsion of the ship.;CONSTITUTION: An ice breaking device (100) comprises a floating body (110), connection members (120), an excitation part (130), a control part, and a vibration measuring sensor (150). The floating body has an inclined portion and floats on the water. The connection members support the floating body to a ship. The excitation part is installed on the floating body and vibrates the floating body. The control part controls the excitation part. The vibration measuring sensor measures the vibration of drift ice and transmits the measured results to the control part.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
