PURPOSE: A non-contact type torsion detector and an electronic bicycle capable of elastically controlling an auxiliary power according to a power requirement is provided to accurately measure torsion actuating on both end parts of a pedal shaft by removing overloads. CONSTITUTION: A non-contact type torsion detector comprises a transmitter, a receiver(41), a first rotor(33), a second rotor(43), and a detection control member. The transmitter generates electric field signals and transmits. The receiver is installed to be spaced from the transmitter at a constant interval and receives the electric field signals transmitted from the transmitter. The first rotor coaxially installed with the transmitter at a position closed to the transmitter between the transmitter and receiver and rotates by being connected to rotation of one side end part of the pedal shaft. The second rotor is spaced form the first rotor at a constant interval and rotates by being connected to rotation of the other side end part of the pedal shaft. The detection control member detects a torsion angle and torsion generated between the both sides of the pedal shaft according to the signals received by the receiver.
