A response of the driver assistance system (10) is simulated for predetermined accident scenario with prior collision phase (14) and collision phase (12). Several scenarios are determined in modeling of prior collision phase by using Monte Carlo simulation based on a driving situation characterized by a parameter of the motor vehicle. An independent claim is included for testing apparatus of driver assistance system for motor vehicle.
