The device (10) has a feedback actuator (14) designed as a hydraulic auxiliary plane, and a steering shaft engaged with the actuator over a gear transmission. The gear transmission comprises rack gears (12, 13) i.e. toothed piston rods, which are engaged with a pinion (11). Pressure applied on the rack gears by hydraulic cylinders (15, 18) is directed into a same direction, where hydraulic pressure is smaller than the applied pressure. Two pistons (17, 21) are arranged opposite to each other in a bottom or top dead center in the respective cylinders.
