The heat exchanger has a tubing (5) and multiple fins (1) oriented perpendicular to the tubing. Each fin has a base side (8), a mold side (9), and a recess (7), at which the tubing rests. A web (11) is arranged in sections at an edge of the recess, and adjacent fins surround an intermediate space by spacers (12). The spacers are formed in one-piece with the fins at the edge of the recess. A section of the web is designed as the spacer. The sections of the web or the spacer are formed on the base side or on the mold side of the fin. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a fin for a heat exchanger.
