The machine (1) has a free standing circular cutting knife (22) whose cutting part is partially covered by a knife protection ring (23). The protection ring is attached or screwed at a machine housing (2) using multiple screws, where a seal (3) is arranged between the machine housing and the protection ring. The seal comprises multiple transverse webs that engage with corresponding recesses of the protection ring, where an outer side of the seal is rounded-off. A motor is arranged in an interior part of the machine housing and connected with the cutting knife over a drive shaft.
